Many people believe starting a business is a mysterious process. They know they want to start a business, but they don’t know the first steps to take.

If you have an idea for a business and you are not sure how to get started, there is a great news: The first prototype you create for this business can be in the form of a story.

Like a film trailer, you can go through a scenario that tell which problem you are solving and how could a solution looks like, go out and tell it to trusted allies, get feedbacks and refine it iteratively till you build a confidence to start really building your offer.

So what I would encourage you to do is just start telling people about your idea, and as you tell them about the business, you’are going to have to figure out who the customer is, where they find it and more important insights that can give clues into the right direction of your business.

You are going to figure out what parts of it people like, what parts are confusing or don’t make sense, so don’t be shy to talk about your business, and realize that the story you are telling is a prototype itself.

Once you have a business idea that you think has real potential, don’t keep it to yourself!

Share it with trusted associates as a story so that they can help you refine it and make it happen.
